Leadership:  Elders & Deacons

As a congregation, we nominate and elect Elders and Deacons to serve as leaders alongside Pastor Tom.  The Elders are mentors and leaders overseeing our vision and operations. While Elders are involved with caring for the spiritual needs of the congregation, Deacons care for practical aspects of our congregation such as physical, financial, and emotional needs.

Our Elders

And Jesus called them to him and said to them, "You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. -Mark 10:42-45

  • Mark True

Mark has been a member of Hope Church since 2003. He has been involved with the Worship Team (as a guitarist and vocalist), Children's MinistryYouth Group,  and small groups.  He greatly appreciates Hope's focus on grace.  "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Scott has been a member of Hope Church since 2011. He has been involved with Hope’s Hospitality Team, Prayer Team, and Youth Group.  Scott has served as a Deacon and has been a fixture on our Youth Mission Trips.  What he appreciates most about Hope is the family atmosphere and the message. “We are real people that love Jesus!”

  • Dan Moreno

Dan has been at Hope Church since 2001. He has been involved with Worship Team, Children’s Ministry, Prayer Team, Youth Group, Missions Trips, and has served as both a Deacon and an Elder. Matthew 25:40 says, “…Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” "At Hope Church we have many opportunities serve “the least of these” through our local missions work, and I’ve enjoyed these rich opportunities to live out this gospel message to those in need".

  • Carl Trim

Carl has been at Hope Church since 2006. He has served in the Hospitality and Prayer Team ministries. What he values most about Hope is the size and family feel. “You can get lost at a big church, but in the Hope Family, people genuinely know and care about you.” John 14:1 says, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.”  We all need and GIVE that encouragement to one another each week at Hope!

Our Deacons

The first duty of a Deacon is to provide sympathy and service to those in need.  Acts 6:1-4

Our Deacons oversee the practical care for our congregation.

  • jayson leroy

Jayson has worked in the Life Safety industry for over 20 years and has been a member of Hope Church since 2006. In that time, he's served in various roles throughout the church including small groups, deacon, Worship Team member and leader.  Jayson admires that Hope Church holds true to it's motto, A Real Church for Real People.  "We don't hide the fact that we are broken sinners. We strive to be better than what we are but acknowledge the fact that we need each other as a community of believers to even remotely come close to achieving that goal. As dysfunctional as it may be (and trust me, we have some dysfunction within our midst), we truly are a family in Christ that does well together despite the challenges."
