Hope Church Approach to Worship

The book of Revelation gives multiple glimpses into God’s throne room and what worship will look like there. In these scenes, worship does not resemble a concert where a small group sings and others watch/observe/enjoy. Rather, we see the entire community jointly invited to gather in worship to proclaim words of praise to an audience of ONE: our Savior! Perhaps there will be heavenly musical sections involved in this worship (24 elders… 4 living creatures… a great multitude), but there is NO MENTION of spectator stand or passive audience! Revelation 19:5-7: “And a voice came from the throne saying, ‘Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.’ Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him…’”

At Hope Church, we reverently view each Sunday morning as a chance to join together before the throne in such joyous corporate worship. The music we choose focuses on that theme: praising God alone. We include a lot of music from Indelible Grace (a ministry birthed out of a desire to make the richness of old hymn texts more real, engaging and accessible to the next generation).

We also include old traditional hymns, contemporary Christian songs and favorite tunes from the past few decades with a solid message of praise. Hopefully a little something for everyone… but always remembering: we serve an audience of ONE! The Hope Church Worship Team includes musicians (vocalists + instrumentalists), soundboard technicians, and projectionists. We come from diverse backgrounds in training and experience, but all come to the Worship Team with a heart to serve and grow in their ministry to the Hope Family and to the Kingdom at large.

If music interests you (singing, playing an instrument, sound engineering, projection, etc.), please visit with one of the Worship Team leaders to discuss options on where you can plug in to this team.
